Artist Jason Brueck contrasts recognizable images from art history with pop influences to create new realities and images. He resides comfortably in contrast: he juxtaposes past and present; light and dark; good and evil; and life and death to create a visual counter balance for the viewer. The counter balance leads to numerous possible meanings or visual paths to traverse, but ultimately, the final interpretation is up to the viewer to decide.
As a digital artist, Brueck combines found imagery and personal photographs through digital manipulation. He sees unlimited potential and liberation in digital art, writing, “My goal is to take the seemingly unimaginable and make it a visual reality by blurring the lines between the real and surreal.”
